In Hungary on Monday night, hyenas picked up a drunk man from the town of Juza in Kimbu County.
Residents of Jujar Athi village said the man was 36 years old. He was drunk when the hyenas attacked him at night. The hyenas ate his whole body and left only the dry bones.
The people of Athi village have condemned the use of illegal alcohol and added that the person would not have died if he was not drunk. The residents added that many more mysterious deaths and incidents have taken place as a result of consuming illegal drugs.
A local who spoke to reporters said wild animals could not have killed the man if he had not been drunk.
Residents also said they were protesting to address the issue of illicit drugs.
People from eight villages added that there are many more animals in the area besides hyenas and they say they usually hide in the bushes and come out when it gets dark.
According to local residents, they tried in vain to seek help from Kenya Wildlife Services. They revealed that there were some more people who died after being attacked by animals in the area.
A local who identified himself as Jonathan told the media that they were living in fear of the lives of their children who usually go to school very early in the morning. He added that most people were forced to go to their homes quickly to avoid being attacked by wild animals.
