Troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of anti national elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF. On 31 Mar 2022, acting on a tip off, troops of BOP Changrabandha, 148 Battalion BSF apprehended 04 Female Bangladeshi Nationals from bordering area while they were trying to cross over to Bangladesh illegally.
They revealed that they came from Mumbai and wanted to go Bangladesh. All the apprehended Bangladeshi Nationals were handed over to PS Mekhliganj.
Besides above, from 29 Mar to 01 April 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 30 Cattle, 770 Bottles of Phensedyl, and other contraband items from different border areas.
The total value of seized items is Rs.9,01,363/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
