Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 07 Nov 2022, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Karan of 06 Battalion BSF under Jalpaiguri Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Coochbehar district of West Bengal apprehended 02 Bangladesh lady R/O Natore and Manikganj district of Bangladesh while duo were illegally trying to cross border from Bangladesh to India through the unfenced area of Dahagram-Angarpota Enclave. Apprehended duo Bangladeshi ladies were handed over to PS Kuchlibari.
In the another incident, on 06 Nov 2022, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Govindpur of 61 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector in North Bengal deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 01 Indian lady R/O Vill–Bolopara, PS–Hili, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal with 950 Nos of Yaba Tablets, 38 Nos of Buprenorphine Injection and 600 Gms while she was trying to smuggling these items from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Indian lady with seized items was handed over to PS Hili.
In addition to above, from 05 Oct to 07 Nov 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 15 Cattle, 669 Bottles of Phensedyl, 950 Nos of Yaba Tab, 16.100 Gms Ganja, 58.14 Gms Gold Ornamentals, 11.73 Gms Silver Ornamentals and other contraband items from different border areas. The total value of seized items is Rs.11,46,113/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
