Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 13 Nov 2022, acting on the tip off, troops of BOP Berubari-II of 15 Battalion BSF under Siliguri Sector in North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal launched a special operation and apprehended Bangladeshi couple alongwith 01 Indian tout namely Krishna Roy (20 Yrs) S/O-Ganga Roy, Vill-Binnagiri, PO-Satkura, PS-Kotwali, Jalpaiguri, Distt-Jalpaiguri (West Bengal).
The couple fell in love but their family didn’t accept this relationship. Hence, the couple decided to live in India to maintain their relationship. Youth identified as Rubel Hoque (30 Yrs), S/O Habibor Rahman, Vill-Dhamer Ghat, PS-Boda, Distt-Panchagarh (Bangladesh) while his wife R/O Vill-Goreya, PS-Thakurgaon Sadar, Distt-Thakurgaon (Bangladesh). BD Taka 81,000, Indian Currency Rs.700/-, 04 Nos Mobile and 01 No Wrist Watch were recovered from their possession. Apprehended trio with seized items were handed over to PS Kotwali.
In addition to above, from 13 & 14 Nov 2022, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 20 Cattle, 272 Bottles of Phensedyl, 169 Bottles of Fairdyl, BD Taka 81,000, Indian Currency Rs.700/- and other contraband items from different border areas.
The total value of seized items is Rs.3,35,482/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
