As part of the calendar of events, Border Security Force is organizing a “Cycle Rally” w.e.f. 01 Nov 2022 to 12 Dec 2022 to mark the 75th Anniversary of Independence of India under the aegis of Sh Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, IPS of Head Quarter Special Director General (Eastern Command). This Cycle Rally was flagged off from ICP Akhura, Agartala, Tripura of 120 Battalion BSF on 01 Nov 2022 and will terminate at Tagorevilla, Kolkata of 118 Battalion BSF on 12 Dec 2022. This cycle rally will go along the border of Tripura, Mizoram & Chhahar, Meghalaya, Guwahati, North Bengal and South Bengal. This Cycle Rally comprising of 18 Cyclists @ 3 cyclists from each BSF Frontier of Eastern Command and Sh Vikash Kundu, Asstt Comdt of 119 Battalion BSF is deputed for Contingent Commander. This Cycle Rally will travel along the road as well as border road for the next 08 days in the area of North Bengal Frontier under the supervision of Sh Ajai Singh, Inspector General of BSF North Bengal Frontier.
This cycle Rally reached at BOP Fulbari of 176 Battalion BSF under Siliguri Sector of North Bengal Frontier on 23 Nov 2022 at about 1615 hrs where senior BSF officials warmly welcomed the cycle rally. The objective of Cycle Rally is to promote awareness on National Integration and spread message of Partriotism & Fraternity among all Indians. The Cyclists are going to interact with school children, NCC volunteers & youths in several cities en-route. This Cycle Rally aims to attract youth to join the elite force i.e. BSF.
Further, on 23 Nov 2022 at about 0900 hrs, Sh Ajai Singh, Inspector General of BSF North Bengal Frontier flagged off the Cycle Rally for their onwards journey towards Kishanganj and halted over a night at BOP Chandapara of 94 Battalion BSF in Kishanganj Sector. BSF Officials, local dignitaries, youths and Camp Commander of Border Guard Bangladesh BOP Banglabandha of 18 BGB were present during the ceremony to promote National integration & Patriotism.
This Cycle Rally will show case various events like short films on BSF, awareness on drugs, smuggling and programmes to attract youths to join the Border Security Force, India’s first line of defence and other forces. While interacting with school children and youths of the country en-route, the rally will also raise awareness on the role and task of Border Security Force which is the largest border guarding force in the world and its contribution to national security.
