Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 29 Jan 2023 at about 2215 hrs, acting on tip off, troops of BOP Tarun of 6 Battalion BSF under Jalpaiguri Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh Border in Coochbehar district of West Bengal apprehended 02 Bangladesh Nationals namely Ranjan Majumder (65 yrs) S/o Rashamay Majumder R/O Vill-Tali Office Road, PS-Hazaribagh, Distt-Dhaka (BD) alongwith his wife while duo were illegally trying to cross border from Bangladesh to India. BD Currency 46,204 Taka, Indian Currency Rs.7,000/- and 03 Mobiles were recovered from their possession. Apprehended duo Bangladeshi Nationals with seized items were handed over to PS Kuchlibari.
In addition to above, from 29 to 30 Jan 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 18 Cattle, 89 bottles of M K Dyl, 49 bottles of Phensedyl, BD Currency 46,204 Taka, Indian Currency Rs.7,000/- and other contraband items from different border area. The total value of seized items is Rs.4,64,913/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
