Troops of under command Battalions of north Bengal Frontier BSF deployed Indo-Bangladesh border are maintaining alertness of highest order on the border to thwart any attempt of antinational elements to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and infiltrations & exfiltration under the dynamic leadership of Shri Ajai Singh, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier BSF.
On 01 April 2023 (Saturday) at about 1100 hrs, alert troops of BOP Prispur of 137 Battalion BSF under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier deployed on Indo-Bangladesh in Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal apprehended 02 Indian Nationals (Female) both are R/O Vill-Siala, PS- Balurghat, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur (West Bengal) while duo were clandestinely carrying Tapentadol Tablets for smuggling from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended duo lady with seized items were handed over to PS Balurghat.
In addition to above, on 28 Mar to 02 April 2023, troops of under command Battalions of North Bengal Frontier BSF carried out anti-smuggling drive in their respective border areas in order to thwart any attempt by ANEs to execute their nefarious design of smuggling and seized 11 Nos of Cattle, 2,088 bottles of Phensedyl group of syrup and other contraband items from different border area. The total value of seized items is Rs.5,57,843/-. Above items were seized by BSF troops while smugglers were trying to smuggle these items from India to Bangladesh.
